WHEREAS, the OWWL Library System and its member libraries share a collective obligation to protect the integrity, security, and lawful use of shared systems, technologies, and patron data; and
WHEREAS, the trust placed in every OWWL Library by its community depends on the responsible stewardship of confidential information, reliable technology infrastructure, and consistent compliance with professional and legal standards; and
WHEREAS, the System’s strength is built upon the collective integrity, diligence, and dedication of each member library, whose actions uphold the credibility and resilience of the entire network; and
WHEREAS, maintaining strong safeguards for data security, patron privacy, and shared technology is essential to ensuring equitable access, operational continuity, and public confidence in library services; and
WHEREAS, the OWWL Library System recognizes that protecting these shared resources requires continuous vigilance, collaboration, and communication among all libraries within the System;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the OWWL Library System Board of Trustees reaffirms its commitment to upholding the highest standards of data security, patron privacy, and operational integrity across all shared services; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the System pledges to support all member libraries through training, consultation, and clear guidance to strengthen compliance and reduce risk; and
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, that the OWWL Library System affirms that the continued success of our shared network depends on the conscientious efforts of every library to safeguard information, maintain secure practices, and uphold the public’s trust in the integrity of our library system.
